I'm thinking about them. These women - French by birth or adoption - have shared their beauty, animal spirit and sudden exuberances with me. I had no other choice but to approach them intimately, face to face, so that they would undress for me and expose themselves, naked, for you. No pose, no filter. Retouched, the impression wouldn't be the same. Au naturel, they reveal their world, their secrets.
These are portraits of women, undressed, whom I admire. They could all be sisters or friends. This book is the story of pursuits that took place over long evening discussions and summer courtships on the beach; some said yes right way, free of inhibitions. For those wearing modesty as second skin, I gave them me to warm to the idea. once invited, I followed them into their secret places: high-ceilinged apartment, a cliff, a sunlit room, a dark night - wherever they felt at home.
I travelled all over France with a pounding heart to photograph them, our intimate encounters having the intense perfume of whirlwind romances.
