PhytoQuiz 1 is the first of two basic CD-ROM available in French or English versions based self-training suitable for phytoplankton observers : technicians, shellfish-farmers, students. Designed as an inter-active and illustrated video-game, it aims to improve the user's knowledge on phytoplankton through a wide panel of documents (microphotographies, drawings, videos) and a self-training based method. PhytoQuiz 1 includes French (and Mediterranean as well) marine organisms with a flagellated stage in their life cycle. It is currently available with a catalogue of 312 microphotographies.
