Erik Gunnar Asplund (1885-1940) produced buildings of extraordinary grace and poetry in his native Sweden. Among his best known works are the pavilions at the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition, the Stockholm Library (1928) and the Woodland Chapel (1920). This book celebrates the life and work of Asplund, a contemporary of Walter Gropius and Le Corbusier, who was recognized for his unique blend of Classical, Modernist and Vernacular architecture. Asplund's achievements are amply demonstrated through masterpieces that lasted throughout his career, such as the Gothenburg Law Courts (1913-1937) and the Enskede Cemetery (1915-1940), a collaboration with Sigurd Lewerentz. Résumé : Que s'est-il réellement passé dans le pavillon de chasse de Mayerling où F Archiduc Rodolphe de Habsbourg, fils de Sissi et de l'Empereur François-Joseph, et appelé à régner, a trouvé la mort avec sa maîtresse Mary Vetsera ? Suicide ou complot ? Cela fait plus d'un siècle que les deux hypothèses s'affrontent. Il n'y avait que quatre témoins. L'un d'entre eux, le Comte Hoyos, va libérer sa conscience en transmettant le secret à son frère cadet. Ce testament, transmis verbalement de père en fils, ou au frère cadet, est parvenu au jour-naliste franco-autrichien Ladislas de Hoyos, celui qui après avoir retrouvé Klaus Barbie, présenta le journal de TF1. N'ayant pas de fils, il l'a transmis à son demi-frère cadet, François Varay, auteur de ce récit. Ce dernier plaide pour la recherche de la vérité en apportant cette nouvelle révélation, au-delà des reconstitutions romanesques qui ne rendent pas compte du caractère réel de Rodolphe, mélange de modernisme et de légèreté viennoise.
