This book profiles 30 exceptional restaurants from around the world. Each interior is documented by photographs, plans and a brief introductory text. The expectation these days is that noise, lighting and the overall design of the space is as important as the food, drink and service aspects of a restaurant. Space Restaurant showcases 30 projects from around the world including the Concrete Architectural Associates' bizarre Clinic in Singapore where the floor plan is built up of different pills and guests sit in wheelchairs and eat from operation tables ; the elegant Custom House in Copenhagen by Conran & Partners ; and the Four Food Studio in New York where the four main spaces relate to the seasonal menu which changes every 13 weeks.

A lot of publications / books are devoted to document design projects which have completed construction. As it may take years from design stage to project completion, the ideas and concepts that were employed in designing these projects might not be considered the most current ones. Some good design projects, for other reasons beyond their design merits, might not be constructed / materialized at all. This book sets out to document landscape architecture projects that are either unbuilt, under construction, or purely experimental with an intention to bring to readers the current thinking, ideas and concepts in Landscape Architecture.
