L'UNESCO a récemment rejoint Bilbao dans le Réseau des villes créatives, catégorie "Design". La principale raison de cette reconnaissance internationale a été la candidature de la ville pour le Design comme l'épine dorsale de la transformation urbaine. Cette transformation est le moyen que le livre va nous transmettre. Pour cette raison, sa couverture est une traduction visuelle de la notion de "transformation" : une route urbaine représentée par le pavé de Bilbao qui transmet le caractère "fort et extraverti" Bilbao grâce à sa forme (un livre grand et fort comme un "txikarrôn"), avec une police contemporaine rappelle Bilbao industriel et la couleur utilisé est indoutablement de la symbole de la ville.
