Spoon. Edition en langue anglaise

Spoon provides a global overview of contemporary product design. It presents the work of 100 designers who have broken new ground internationally in the last five years, selected by ten curators, who are all highly respected for their knowledge of the contemporary design scene world wide. The designers featured in Spoon work in every field of industrial design and come from a wide variety of countries and backgrounds. They are presented in alphabetical order through four pages per designer and with an introductory text written by the curators who chose them. The products are illustrated through photographs, sketches, computer renderings, and prototypes that help to explain, together with the extended captions, the process behind each project. The curators were also requested to pick a 'design classic', which they think best exemplifies the concept of 'good design'. These 'classics' are illustrated at the end of the book and are accompanied by a text in which the curators discuss these icons of design. Spoon provides a unique opportunity to see a diverse collection of recent design projects that includes a whole range of objects : furniture, lighting, high-tech products, cars and motorcycles.
